Hotel Houklea

Good amenities in the room for a cheap hotel. The washing machine came in handy.

Parking is the one small downside. There are only about 7 or 8 spaces, and they close up if you check in too late. The second and third lots are farther away, about a 5-minute walk back to the hotel. Don’t park at the supermarket. I noticed people in Japan are very law-abiding, and nobody parks there overnight. Otherwise, this would be my first choice if I visited again. The room was clean, dry and had no odor, and the bed had just the right firmness. There’s a free washing machine and a powerful dryer, plus shampoo, conditioner and body wash. You can get groceries across the street and cook in the kitchen. Just remember to flush and sort your trash. MEGA is nearby too.

The only drawback was probably the bathtub. I was likely too tired yesterday, so there weren’t many walkers around. The restaurant was clean and had convenient kitchenware, and everything you need is nearby. The comforters smelled like sunshine, and the sheets and blankets were comfy enough for a good night’s sleep. For parking, don’t focus only on the first floor. There’s a small lot behind the restaurant on the side street, though everyone seems to think the only lot is across the street. Staff replied quickly when I had questions. I’m very satisfied with the price.

For food nearby, there’s King Yakiniku, Hama Sushi and Don Quijote. The hotel also has a kitchen for cooking, plus a microwave, washing machine with detergent, and a dryer, which I think is fantastic. Parking downstairs is first come, first served. If that lot is full, you can use the second parking lot. Location maps are posted on the pillars in the downstairs lot.
