Hotel Peace Island Nago

We found this place by chance while looking for an affordable stay near Junklea Okinawa, and spent three nights here in November 2025. It was handy for our plans to visit Nago City Hall, Nakijin Castle, Kouri Island and the Fukugi Tree Avenue in Bise. We’d also stayed at Hotel Peace Island Naha. This hotel was more spacious and comfortable than the one in Naha. Like that hotel, the room had a large refrigerator, microwave and washing machine, and the outdoor gas dryer was free to use. That was really convenient. We used the public bath every day too. It was quiet, so we could relax and unwind. Breakfast was the highlight. The taste, quality and menu were all better than you’d expect for the price. And the male staff member, maybe the manager, was incredibly helpful. He greeted us with a smile every morning and kept smiling after meals. It made breakfast pleasant, and we could enjoy the trip together as a happy couple. I’ll definitely stay at this hotel again on my next visit to the north.

I stayed for two nights while visiting the Tigers and other training camps. From the rooftop in the evening you can watch the sun set over the East China Sea, and the large public bath on the top floor has an ocean view. That’s probably the hotel’s best feature. My room faced away from the ocean, toward the city, but the view was still great and felt open. There’s a San-A supermarket nearby that stays open until 10pm, as well as a convenience store. The izakaya district is just a five-minute walk away.

Breakfast was included, and I enjoyed it. The walks nearby were nice too. It’s good value and close to Orion Happy Park, with convenient paid parking. The rooms are spacious and have washing machines. Extra towels are set out by the elevator, and the interior was nice with its ocean view.

The room is a little old, and I noticed a drain smell as soon as I went in. The front desk staff were nice, but having to leave the room key every time I went out was a hassle. These days! When I came back just to pick up my key, the staff were still explaining sights and restaurants to previous guests. I wish they’d paid a bit more attention and noticed I was only there for the key. I felt bad, but after waiting quite a while and getting fed up, I called from behind them, “Just give me the key, please.”
