We booked a BBQ for our family trip, but the entrance was so overgrown and full of ants and bugs that we wound up cooking the meat in a frying pan instead. The room was in awful shape when we arrived. There was dust, ants, and gecko droppings, including on the bed, and what looked like ash on the table. The torn screen door meant the window couldn’t be opened. Instead of relaxing after the trip, we had to start by cleaning. It was the worst accommodation I’ve ever stayed in, and I wondered when anyone had last cleaned it. There were plenty of cookware, cutlery, and dishes, but I’d wash them before using them. Plastic wrap, foil, and kitchen paper were provided, but the plastic wrap box was empty and there was barely any paper left, so bring your own.

The washer and dryer and the rest of the facilities were great. But we had to start by cleaning, and the bathtub detergent was almost gone.

We got to have fun together on this family trip while relaxing just like we do at home. Some might say it’s a waste to spend a vacation relaxing, but for us, simply enjoying our time together was really great. Best trip we’ve ever had.
