Best Western Plus Nagoya Sakae

The rooms are spacious for the price, cleaning is done well, and the breakfast bar has options from several cuisines. I might come back in summer when the AC works, but I wouldn't stay here in winter if you're used to sleeping in a cool room. Heating is centrally controlled, the hallways were kept at 28°, and staff told us there was no way to cool the room because the windows don't open. Who sleeps comfortably in a 26° room?!

The rooms and service are nice, and I have no real complaints. It's in the city centre, though a bit far from the station, so it depends on whether you like walking.

I'm only writing this now because I found the note with the staff names. We stayed one night in September 2025, and they gave us excellent, exceptionally kind help. We'd particularly like to thank Ms. Rana for being so helpful and kind, and Mr. Skiller for helping me find my cell phone after I lost it in a taxi. If I return to Nagoya, I'd stay at this excellent hotel again, if only to thank them once more.

The rooms are beautiful, probably the nicest I've seen in Japanese 3-4* hotels. You might hear a little noise from the corridor, but not much, and the window didn't seem to open. Some amenities aren't in the rooms, though you can pick them up for free at the lobby stand. It's easy to get to the Science museum, Art museum, and Nagoya station. The zoo is on the same subway line. The aquarium, Legoland, and Railway museum are far away, though those places are far out themselves. The location is good, two stops from Nagoya station and then about a five-minute walk, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
