The location is in a decent area, within walking distance of nicer neighborhoods, though I wouldn't call it central or fashionable. The place was reasonably clean, but my carpet had bad stains. You have to pick up tea and coffee at reception to use in your room. This is what people in Japan call a business hotel. To me, it felt more like a hostel in the UK: a bed in a small room and a shower, with no bar, tourist information or other facilities. The receptionist described it as a budget hotel for business users, and I wouldn't consider it suited to tourists. The reception team were nice, but they were adolescents and none spoke English. Travel Solutiind NI booked me in, paying the equivalent of £35 per night, which gives you an idea of the standard. I wouldn't stay here again, and I'd encourage Travel Solutions NI not to book unsuspecting tourists here. It was hostel standard.

The clean, comfortable rooms are on the small side, but this has been a really good-value stay. I hope the new management keeps the hotel's nice touches when it changes its name to Koko Hotel mid Feb 2026. The lobby feels welcoming, with comfortable sofas and couches, manga-filled bookcases, generous baskets of amenities, and a coffee/tea machine. I especially liked the cypress-scented bath salts and the packets of special dashi stock handed out at check-in.

The male attendant at the front desk was exceptional, attentive, and very helpful. The room was clean, though I'd have preferred a larger pillow. In Rm 422, there was mold in the toilet and bath area. I think the cleaner may have missed it, but I'm sure it can be resolved. The hotel is on a main road in a very decent area. Nightlife and restaurants are a little far, about 10-25 minutes on foot. I'd recommend staying here.

We slept well here after days out at Nagoya castle, Ghibli park and Gujo Hatchiman, and would happily stay again. The location was extremely convenient for the subway and local eateries. Our room was quiet, and fresh towels were replenished daily. There were lots of complimentary amenities, including sleepwear and slippers, and anything else we needed was available from the desk. I borrowed a hair straightener and extra pillows as needed. Thanks again!

The room was so small that I had to sleep right beside the fridge, which switched on and off noisily all night. When it finally went quiet, I could hear a leak from the bathroom drain through the closed door. The thin walls also let in everything from neighboring rooms, including alarms. I could barely sleep. I paid 1,500 yen for breakfast, but it was poor. I usually like a sweet breakfast, yet there were only a few mini croissants and slices of toast. They had no butter or jam when I asked. I've never stayed in a hotel without those before. Even for one night, this was a very uncomfortable stay, and I wouldn't recommend it.
