HOTEL LiVEMAX Nagoya Taikodori-Guchi

We needed two twin bed rooms, which were almost impossible to find, since there were plenty of double bed rooms. Saturday rates seemed expensive, though what I paid was much cheaper by comparison. We had to take smoking rooms in the end, and one smelled while the other didn’t. The place lacked for nothing, and reception were very nice, so I’m happy to give it five stars. From Nagoya Station, there’s a taxi stand out front, or you can leave from the back and walk a fairly short distance.

The air conditioner was broken and never worked. We ended up opening the window for fresh air despite the cold November nights, which made sleeping even harder. There was never anyone at the front desk when we tried to reach them, apart from when we checked in. The room had a dark red stain on the bathroom wall that looked like blood, hair hanging from the vent, and more hair coming out of a broken socket detached from the wall beside the bed. There were face towels left in the outdoor corridor and used toothpaste on the sink. I couldn’t be bothered to take pictures of every strange thing we found. The hairs and stains had already made the stay unpleasant, and the broken AC finished the job. It felt mentally and physically threatening. Please avoid this place. You deserve better.

The rooms are lovely, but the wifi is absolute dogshit.

Comfy place for a staycation, and the location’s great.
