The Manga Hotel Togo

It was affordable, but I was thrown off by having to face the front desk staff and pick out our own pillows, covers, and amenities. For a moment I almost thought it wasn’t a love hotel.

The kids loved the soft, mattress-like flooring instead of hardwood. There was also a water dispenser in the room, with hot water.

I was here on a business trip. It used to be a love hotel, and now it has a distinct mix of hotel and manga cafe. The room and facilities show their age. They weren’t especially clean, but they also weren’t particularly dirty, just average. There’s plenty of room, including in the bathroom, and the room has a microwave and water dispenser. Manga reading is unlimited, and chuhai is free. The location was inconvenient for me, even though there are a few convenience stores and ramen shops around. There’s a desk but no chair. The cushions don’t really help, and it’s not a good setup for working for long. Still, I thought the stay was fine.

The soft floor and low bed worked perfectly for me. I stayed two nights and used the nearby convenience store and Komeda's Coffee. There was no membership registration, unlike what earlier reviews said, and the hotel provided free ice cream, Horoyoi alcohol, room wear, and amenities. I played Momotetsu on my Switch at night. The torn sheeting in the parking lot is the one thing I’d like them to fix. It makes the place look run-down and feels embarrassing if a guy brings a girl.
