G-RATIS Omoromachi

The location is handy, just a short walk from the monorail, and the area around it stays fairly quiet. The room was clean, though the kitchen setup was disappointing: there isn't much cookware, and the worn frying pan has lost its nonstick surface. I could only use it for stir-frying, not eggs or fish. Getting in took a while. This is an unmanned, self check-in place, and the instructions are more involved than at other places I've stayed. Unless you read them closely, the different passwords are confusing to match up. I've stayed in plenty of guesthouses, but this is the first serviced apartment I've found with no rice cooker. No rice cooker at all. There's a washer and dryer, but no detergent either, so the laundry setup feels almost pointless. @_@

With a washing machine, fridge, and a few basic dishes and pans in the room, it seems handy for a longer stay. The place is very clean and roomier than a standard hotel, though to me it feels more like a private rental. It used to be an apartment building that was converted into a hotel, so you might not recognize it as one at first.

The dining table is roomy, and pushing the beds together gives you even more usable space. There are plenty of towels and spare dryer filters, and the balcony, while small, has enough room to dry your gear. Being close to the station makes it easy to get around without a car, and there's a convenience store nearby plus paid parking right next door. It's nice to be able to enjoy a drink, too. I've already booked another stay!

I've stayed in a lot of apartment hotels, and this one was the cleanest and best kept by far. Even the kitchen items and amenities looked spotless and brand new, especially in the bathroom and entryway. The place has appliances and Wi-Fi, so it works well for families or groups of friends. It's right by DFS Okinawa Naha, close to a station and convenience stores, and within walking distance of interesting areas. A good fit if you want to feel like you're living there. I'd happily come back.
