Hotel Strata Naha

The garden and plants around the hotel are really beautiful, and it was a good place to stay overall. It's right beside the rail, so the location is excellent. I booked twin beds, but they were pushed together like a king-size bed. That wasn't ideal since I was traveling with a friend I'm not that close to. I stayed five days, four nights, and got exactly the same breakfast every morning, which became boring. The room rate is a bit high, so I hope the hotel pays more attention to the details.

The beds were really comfortable, the location was lovely, and it was a great hotel for the price. There was barely room to open a suitcase in the compact room, though you could tuck one under the bed. The first room we were given smelled awful, but as soon as we complained, they moved us to another.

The hotel looks more modern than others around Naha, and it's centrally located, right beside the monorail to the airport and about a 10-minute walk from Makishi market. Rooms are a little small, much like others in the city, but my stay was comfortable. If you're driving, the hotel has a multistorey car lift without an attendant. Press the intercom when you get there and a staff member will come help. I parked for three nights at 1,500 yen per day.

This felt like a one- or two-star hotel, unpleasant and not clean. The room had a musty smell, and the window wouldn't open. Turning on the stained-looking air-conditioning made my throat scratchy, and the vents didn't look clean. I could hear hallway noise as if people were right in the room. The Wi-Fi was slow, and it disconnected whenever I left my room. I wouldn't stay here again. After more than a dozen trips to Japan, this was one of the worst hotels I've stayed in, possibly the worst.
