With so many hotels on the island, I’d choose somewhere else. There’s staff on site for only eight hours a day, so arriving early can mean you can’t get in, and don’t count on being able to leave your bags.

There are plenty of restaurants and places to drink nearby, and it’s a good base for exploring Naha and Shuri Castle. You do have to walk a bit to reach a station, and convenience stores are also a little far away, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me. For the price, this apartment-style B&B hotel is hard to beat. The room was clean and roomy, with most things you’d need, including a large fridge, microwave, washing machine, and hot water pot.

It’s a self-service hotel, so you’re expected to take out your trash and bring used towels to reception to exchange them for clean ones. The towel exchange is free just once, and there’s no room service, so bear that in mind for stays longer than three days. The room was newly renovated and very clean, and the location was convenient. The price felt reasonable too. But there were no nightstands, which made the room look oddly incomplete. The pillows were too thick and hard, and the quilt was uncomfortable. It was a single piece with a separate thin sheet underneath, which felt unhygienic and was awkward to use.
