Our room's air-conditioning made a bit of noise, and we were disappointed that our 9-year-old couldn't use the executive lounge after 6 p.m. or the pool after 8 p.m. Still, the staff were all friendly and lovely. We really enjoyed the first-floor restaurant, which had great food and a nice atmosphere. Up on the 11th floor there are a small gym, coin laundry, heated indoor pool, sauna, and heated outdoor jacuzzi. The pool connects to the executive lounge, where drinks and snacks are available all day with unlimited access. The location was excellent too, a 10-second walk from Kokusai Street and about three minutes from Ichiran Ramen.

We were a family of six, four adults and two toddlers aged 2 and 3, and spent five nights in a club twin room with connecting rooms and lounge access. The staff were consistently warm with the kids and brought child-friendly utensils whenever we visited the lounge. The room also came with thoughtful extras for toddlers, including toothbrushes and toothpaste, emergency diapers, and bathroom stools. There are two pools, one heated and indoors, with floats for little ones. It made traveling with them much easier. The room was lovely and modern, with warm lighting and wood details. The beds were so comfortable that my husband, the kids, and I had some of our best sleep in months. The beds could be joined into a California king, which worked well for co-sleeping. There was a large TV with apps like YouTube and Netflix, and even payment options. The clean, roomy bathroom had double sinks and a large tub. Breakfast was among the best I've had, with both international and traditional Japanese choices and a wide range of drinks. The hotel is right by Naha's main street but set back on a side road, so nights were quiet. There are paid parking spots just steps away, and a free lot about a five-minute walk away. Naha is quite far from other main attractions, but it's a convenient base if you're focusing on the city. The hotel was modern, very clean, comfortable, family-friendly, and hospitable. I'd stay at SWGH again on another Okinawa trip. It felt like a hidden gem, and I'm grateful for the wonderful hospitality.

The room and hotel interior looked good, but the stay was a series of frustrating problems, and I won't return. We arrived around 8:30 p.m. and the concierge firmly said there was no parking, without suggesting any alternatives. After driving in circles for about 20 minutes and finding nearby lots full, I spotted an open space in a Southwest Grand Hotel reserved lot. The front desk then said I couldn't use it. By that point it was raining, and although we wanted to cancel, there was no refund. Eventually they made an exception and let us park in the accessible space for 1,500 yen a day. The concierge staff seemed passive. We waited for our luggage in the room, then I went to collect it myself and found both staff chatting. The bed sheet had a blood stain, soundproofing was poor, and a loud, wobbling mini fridge kept us awake. We were fed up after these incidents and gave up the second night, checking into Hyatt Regency, where everything felt much smoother and more established. It felt as if the hotel was run by a skeleton crew: one or two concierge staff and just one front desk worker during both check-in and check-out. The hotel began operating in 2023, and I doubt the parking issue is unique to us, yet there's still no proper solution. With the stained sheet as well, I wonder how management can promote the place as something different, especially as a five-star hotel.

What stood out to me was the calm, capable feel of the hospitality. Staff were courteous, attentive, and professional without hovering, and their help felt sincere rather than rehearsed. Requests were handled efficiently, and communication stayed clear and respectful. The hotel is conveniently placed for getting around, whether you're heading out in the city or coming back after a busy day. Inside, the rooms are spacious, very clean, and in excellent condition. The modern design is practical as well as relaxing, with good bedding and a layout that made it easy to unwind. It feels like a place that maintains its standards over time. Southwest Grand Hotel gives you comfort and quality without too much show. For the service and standard, I thought it offered excellent value. I'd recommend it to travelers looking for a sophisticated, dependable, comfortable stay.

The room was very spacious, which made the stay physically comfortable. The location is handy too, on a quiet side street just off the main road, with restaurants nearby. My concerns were about the service and how things were explained. I arrived an hour before the 3 p.m. check-in and understood that an early room wasn't available. But staff sent me to an uncomfortable little bench by the restaurant entrance to wait. It was pouring, and the seating was so unpleasant that I went back out into the rain to pass the time. Later I found a proper reception area with comfortable seats on the 11th floor. I wish they'd directed me there instead of leaving me by the hallway. The information card said guests who skipped room cleaning would get 1,000 credits. I opted out twice on my first stay and never got the credit. When I returned and asked, the receptionist said that because I'd checked out already, there was no proof the room hadn't been cleaned, so they couldn't give it to me. It may be a small amount, but the lack of accountability felt deceptive.
