The staff were really friendly, but the room was in rough shape. Cigarette tar coated it, there were odd stains on the carpet, and the bathroom water came out brown and cloudy. It was hot, with no air conditioning, just a small table fan. The windows had no screens either, so mosquitoes and other little bugs kept biting me. Prices around Nakashibetsu have gone up, so I felt I had no choice but to stay here. If you can afford it, I'd choose somewhere else.

I appreciated the everyday cleaning, especially compared with big business hotels that call it eco-friendly but don't even change the cups. My room had enough space to open a large suitcase, and while there wasn't an outlet beside the bed, that seemed fair for an older building and didn't bother me much. The ice machine and microwave are on the first floor, and you can use the stairs from the lower floors instead of waiting for the elevator. Secoma next door is handy for food and drinks. The only real drawbacks for me were the unpaved parking lot and the short hours for the bath. I ended up here after every hotel in Nakashibetsu turned me down in July. I booked by phone for four nights, breakfast included, and thought it was a great deal these days. Check-in at the front desk was quick and polite, and breakfast was excellent. The Wi-Fi was fine for sending a few emails, despite what some reviews say. The unit bath was roomy, with good flow and pressure and hot water ready when I needed it, so I didn't use the public bath. I might have tried it once, but the hours didn't work with my schedule.

The room's air conditioning worked well, which made up for a few small inconveniences. I couldn't charge my phone because I needed a USB socket, so the service wasn't quite perfect. Still, for a cheap place to sleep, I'm very satisfied. Parking is free, and shops and restaurants are close enough to walk to.

The big public bath is for men and seems to hold about five people, and the sauna is a real bonus. Breakfast was tasty, and the man at the front desk, maybe the owner, gave excellent service. I like that they offer smoking rooms, too. My only star off is for the lack of an outlet beside the bed. The room wasn't cramped, and it felt fairly priced. I stayed two nights in April and had such a comfortable time that I came back for two nights in June. The Japanese-style room is meant for two or three people. I'd definitely return.

There's so much nearby, from izakayas and karaoke bars to snack bars, Seico Mart, and little restaurants, that picking somewhere to eat or drink is the hard part. The building is in good shape for its age, everything worked well, and the staff were kind. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious. Plenty of guests seem to come back. For me, it's 100 out of 100.
