Forest West Nishi

From the room and outside, you can take in the forest, ocean, and blue sky together. The view from the handmade observation deck, a short walk away, was beautiful and so peaceful. At night, the stars were amazing, nothing like what you see in Naha, and all I could hear was insects. I got a welcome break from the city and my busy routine. There were plenty of insects outside, and they gathered around the lights at night, so stay inside if that bothers you. I was also delighted to spot stag beetles. The bed was large and didn’t hurt my back. I later found out it was a France Bed, which explains why I slept so well. The place feels thoughtful, with well-kept rooms, outdoor spaces, and kitchen. Even though the pension is deep in the mountains and there were lots of insects outdoors, none made it into the rooms. There are only four rooms in the forest, which may be why everything was cleaned so carefully. The owner said it had been open for just over a year. We stayed on the first weekday of summer vacation and were lucky to have the grounds and facilities to ourselves. Bring mosquito repellent. The interior was really beautiful, and the price seemed reasonable. E-Co-op supermarket is about a five-minute drive away. I’d like to come back next year.

It’s clean, roomy, and friendly, and works well for a group. There’s a washing machine, which is handy. The pocket Wi-Fi and other devices were a bit slow, maybe because the place is in the mountains.
