The house is very close to the beach, which was a real plus. The booking and check-in experience, though, was the worst service I’ve had so far. I booked through Booking.com as a partner offer, so I couldn’t contact the owner directly. We weren’t sent check-in instructions ahead of time, and I had to make an international call to work out how to get in. It took almost an hour and felt like guessing the whole way. I’d suggest booking elsewhere to avoid that hassle.

A bit on the small side, but a really nice getaway.
The cabin was clean and nice, and there’s a beautiful beach nearby. The location is good, but the check-in service was disappointing. We booked through Booking and, because it’s remote, didn’t arrive until about 7:45 in the evening, when it was already dark. The owner was meant to send the cabin code in advance, but we got nothing. We tried calling and texting without success, and after searching around, we asked at nearby houses if they had any rooms. The owner of a neighboring guesthouse helped us, and we’re very grateful.
A noisy group next door ruined my trip. The wall between the rooms is so thin that your stay depends entirely on who the neighbors turn out to be.
We went to the beach often for snorkeling, so the outdoor shower by the entrance came in very handy. At night the sky was beautiful, and we could see the Milky Way and shooting stars. Even in busy July, the room next door was empty and it stayed quiet. We stayed two nights. The room was a spacious, clean studio with a simple kitchen, bed, and sofa. The bathtub, washer, and dryer were convenient, though there were only enough towels for one day, so we had to wash our own. It felt like being at home, with cleaning supplies including a vacuum and Swiffer. The kitchen had a rice cooker, pots, cookware, plates, and cutlery, plus a big fridge where we could chill beer glasses. I did wish there’d been a colander. We had Bueno Chicken takeout the first night, then bought sashimi at a sashimi restaurant in Nakaoji the next day. We also picked up mangoes and pineapples at nearby Kanehide and Haneji Station. One thing that worried me: the email PIN for self-check-in wouldn’t open the lock, no matter how many times I tried. The management company said the code they’d emailed was wrong, which left me concerned about safety in the future. Still, this is a place I’d stay at again.
