Yawn Yard Kouri Island

We chose this place for one night to mark our anniversary, so it was disappointing to find that the air conditioner and toilet bidet weren’t working properly. Staff confirmed they were already broken. At this level, we expected those problems to be fixed before check-in, especially for a special occasion. The location and staff were wonderful, but I hope management takes the maintenance issues seriously and improves things for future guests.

We spent the whole morning in our room, taking in the stunning views and enjoying the delicious breakfast. The staff were very friendly, and it made for a great anniversary at Kouri Island. It’s a little remote, so I’d suggest picking up water or snacks at the nearby convenience store before checking in. With a rental car, parking right by the front entrance to your room is super convenient. Highly recommend for couples or a small family looking to relax and spend some leisure time on beautiful Kouri Island.

For my 40th birthday, my husband surprised me with a stay at Yawn Yard, and it was such a treat. The room was incredible, with clever storage tucked into the design and smooth chinook wood giving the whole place a calm, zen-like feel. The bifold doors opened up even more of the beautiful view. The staff were kind, attentive, and so helpful, and breakfast was delicious with service that was right on point. The island itself is peaceful and beautiful, with crystal-clear turquoise water all around. If you want a memorable special stay, I’d book yawn yard. We were delighted!

The pool was heated, though during our stay the water felt too cold. We may have to come back in warmer months. Otherwise, it was breathtaking, one of the best villa resorts I’ve stayed at. We were there for two nights, and the room, food, and service were impeccable. Heartfelt thanks to the Yarn yard team for making the trip so memorable.
