The view was spectacular, and the lady was amazing. I went in January during the heavy winter and stayed one night. She was welcoming and really polite, so it was a good experience and left me with beautiful memories. But the room was very cold, and the heater barely worked before switching itself off during the night. The corridor, toilet, and shower were freezing too. There’s a manual heater in the bathroom, but it was pointless. The WiFi wasn’t working either, lol.

The location is a little remote, which is what gives it its charm. There’s a nice meat restaurant and an onsen in the area, a good way to wind down after a long day. Our room was simple, clean, and spacious. The host was lovely, smiling and welcoming, and we enjoyed talking with her. Thanks for having us.

The owner is what made the stay so positive. She was kind and attentive without hovering, and went out of her way to make us all a nice breakfast. The guesthouse itself was just what you’d expect from a Japanese-style place, simple and rustic. It’s a quiet place to stay, and the backyard view early in the morning is stunning. 🤩

We had a private room in this cozy house, though it looked like they also had dorm rooms. The staff member was very kind, almost like a sister, and we had a nice chat. We were there in early December 2017. Most of the other guests I met were Japanese girls who seemed to have become friends during their stay, which was nice.

The woman who runs the place is wonderful, very friendly, speaks good English, and went out of her way to help us. There are restaurants nearby, and breakfast is available for an extra charge. The scenery is fantastic, and the rooms are comfortable and well furnished. They also provide aircon and WiFi, and can arrange things for guests wanting a more western-style experience. Any tourist looking to stay in the Japanese alps close to Kanazawa should consider it.
