Daiwa Roynet Hotel Nara Natural Hot Springs

Of the four hotels I stayed in during my time in Japan, Daiwa Roynet gave the best value for money. The rooms were just big enough and had all the necessary equipment. It’s right beside the subway station and a convenience store, and just off the main street that leads to Nara park on a lovely walk. The service was top quality, as always.

The public bath and social lounge were nice, and the service was very good. My room was very clean and had nice amenities. The view wasn’t great, but the location near the station and main streets was really good, making it a great base for the main sights. The beds were a bit hard, though softer than in most Japanese hotels.

For the price, this hotel was a great find. Nara Park is easy to reach on foot, and the train and bus station are close too. The onsen costs just 150 yen extra per night, and they leave free treats outside for afterward.

The on-site bath, Nara Wakakusa no Yu, was a lovely way to wind down, with indoor and outdoor bathing areas that were clean and well cared for. Getting around is easy too: Daiwa Roynet Hotel Nara is right by JR Nara Station, handy for Kyoto or Osaka day trips and exploring Nara. Inside, it felt quiet and relaxing despite the central spot. My room was modern and a little more spacious than a typical Japanese business hotel room. It had a comfortable bed, practical amenities, good soundproofing, plenty of daylight from the large windows, and a spotless, well-equipped bathroom. Breakfast had a better-than-average selection of Japanese and Western food. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful even for guests who don't speak Japanese. For photographers and other travelers, it’s a comfortable and dependable place to stay in Nara.
