The staff were very kind, and I had a fun one-night trip to Nara. Everything left me satisfied, though if I had to nitpick, I’d love reading lights on every type of bed. Lol The room was spotless and comfortable, and the toilets and showers had no unpleasant smells. It was quiet at night, so I slept well. The common room has dishes, cooking tools, and a kettle, handy for preparing breakfast or cooking with your own ingredients. On the first floor there are 4-5 shower rooms, toilets, and 4 sinks with hairdryers. The guesthouse is about a 12-13 minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station, and is a good affordable option if easy access to sights matters to you. Todai-ji Temple and other attractions are a bit far away, so I rented a bicycle. You can take the bus, but since the sights are concentrated around Nara Park, biking was more convenient and economical. Riding through the park was lovely, so I really recommend it. Supermarkets and convenience stores are within walking distance, too. Toothbrushes and feminine hygiene products are sold at the front desk. There are also public baths, tasty somen noodle shops, and oden restaurants nearby, so it might be nice to walk around the neighborhood and try some of Nara’s food.
