Oak Hostel Nara

I slept comfortably and quietly even in a 16-bed dorm, thanks to the considerate guests and the capsule-style beds, which offer some privacy and block out enough light. The beds are really comfortable, too. Everything was spotless, and the staff were super friendly. It’s just a two-minute walk from the train station, on a pedestrian street. This is the cleanest, best-located hostel I’ve ever stayed in.

When I booked, I mentioned my dietary restrictions. By the time we arrived, the staff had put together a list of restaurants that could accommodate me. That was incredibly thoughtful. We’re really happy we chose this place. The room was a good size and laid out well, and there’s a lounge on the main floor where you can hang out. But the staff are what stand out most.

The staff were friendly and easy to talk to, and the place was impeccably clean. Several of Nara’s top tourist spots are within walking distance, and there are lots of shopping malls and restaurants nearby. Free coffee and tea, plus use of the microwaves, were nice extras. Highly recommended.

The staff at Oak Hostel Nara were wonderful and very accommodating. It’s conveniently close to several restaurants and convenience stores, and the rooms and facilities were really good. There were plenty of showers and toilets, along with several vanities for brushing your teeth or fixing your hair. The beds were comfortable, and each person gets a locker just outside the dorm room. I had a great stay.
