Henn na Hotel Premier Nara

At around 3:30pm we came back to Henn Na Nara hotel to check in and collect our bags. We’d expected the lobby to be packed, with people retrieving luggage and holding up the check-in machines, but it was empty. Maybe most guests had checked in between 3 and 3:30pm on that weekday afternoon. Getting our bags from the automated storage was easy, just scan the card, and the self check-in went smoothly too. The instructions were in English. We entered our full names to find the reservations, had the passports of all foreign visitors in the room scanned, and got a key card from the machine. The receipt showed our room was on the 6th floor. On the first floor there’s a microwave, an ice machine, and vending machines. The lobby also has shavers, toothbrushes with toothpaste, other facial products, and hand towels. The room is really spacious and the location is excellent, within easy walking distance of Nara Park and several attractions. The bedding was okay, but there was dust in the humidifier, so it needs cleaning. There isn’t always a staff member at the desk.

The staff were friendly and efficient, and the rooms were comfortable and very clean. Check-in at the machine was easy. Breakfast was simple but delicious. For parking, there’s a Times lot 100 m down the same side of the street. I paid 1000 ¥ overnight.

The rooms were clean and adequate, and there was a selection of Japanese manga to read. Check-in was easy, and the hotel is about a block from the train station. A virtual raptor talked to you during check-in, which was pretty funny.
