Hotel Lotus Nara - Adults Only

We really wish we hadn’t stayed here. The room was dirty, with hair left in the bed, and both the bed and pillows smelled like an ashtray. Breakfast was terrible, and the hotel was a long way from the city. The receptionist couldn’t speak English. That’s how my partner and I felt about the place.

A really nice place. My girlfriend likes it a lot!

A cozy little hotel, and it was very clean with a big bath and a nice area for a getaway. One day we were locked in for a short while, which was a bit unsettling. It’s also a little far to walk from Narayama and Nara station.

I found a cockroach beside my pillow during my stay today. When I asked staff to take care of it, they said all they could do was bring insecticide, so I had to deal with it myself. Then a centipede showed up in the bathroom. I asked to move rooms, but they asked if I wanted one at a completely different price. I was already in the most expensive room, and the late-night rate was the same. This was unacceptable, and I won’t stay here again. I’m contacting headquarters. Update: The area manager apologized after I contacted headquarters and said they would put up signs warning that insects may get in because of the location. In our view, if staff could handle any pests that appear, we could keep using the hotel comfortably. I hope they consider that as a future improvement.
