Iroha Grand Hotel Kintetsu Nara Ekimae

Our room was spotless and larger than rooms at other hotels we'd stayed at in Japan. The bed was firm and the pillows flimsy, though that seems standard in Japanese hotels. The large bath was the highlight for me after a long day of walking. Downstairs in the lobby, you can pick up basic necessities as well as extras like different teas and face masks. We also appreciated the water filtration stations for refilling bottles. The hotel's a few minutes from Kintetsu-Nara Station, restaurants and Nara Park, with shops and places to eat right outside. We only had one night and wished we could stay longer. The entrance feels grand, like a five-star hotel, and the comfortable lobby has plenty of seats if you're waiting to check in. Staff were both professional and friendly. We'd stay again if we came back to Nara.

The location made it so easy to see Nara's attractions, and being close to the Kitetsu station train was handy for getting around. We had a good one-night stay and would come back. Breakfast was really good, with fresh fruit and vegetables, and the beds were comfortable. The train station wasn't far, and it was a short walk to the castle and lots of restaurants.

The room was simple, clean and had what we needed. You can pick up amenities in the lobby by the lift. The entrance looked grand, almost like a five-star hotel, and the clean lobby had good seating. There was even a machine for changing notes into coins. Staff were mixed: the person at check-in on our first day seemed a little less friendly, but everyone we met on the day we left was welcoming. The water refill machine was especially nice in the summer heat. The location is amazing, about five minutes from Kintetsu-Nara station and close to Nara Park, places to eat and some museums.
