Kankaso Hotel

The place is right by the park and temple, which is a great location. But it’s poorly maintained, smells, and is missing decorations. The cost doesn’t feel justified.

Everything was taken care of, and the service was great. It felt authentic, quiet, and private. The food and bath were extraordinary experiences.

We could enjoy Todai-ji Temple at night because the inn is so close by. The historic building, location, waitresses, and food all felt perfect. The food was especially delicious, and I’d love to visit again.

The Tenpyo-style room is well worth seeing. Antique art is displayed throughout the inn, and its grandeur impressed the adults, while our small children felt as though they were visiting their grandparents’ home. The rooms were impressive, and we could stay without worry even with young children. It’s a magnificent inn with a strong sense of history, very close and convenient to Todaiji Temple. It may not have all the equipment of a modern hotel, but both the atmosphere and the food were satisfying. The lightly seasoned kaiseki was delicate in flavor and presentation, enjoyable for adults and children alike, and beautiful to look at.
