We had Nara shika resting and grazing right below our window, on the green beside the hotel car park. Some even wandered around the entrance to the nearest konbini. The room was the most spacious we’ve had in Japan so far, and my child loved the bunk space above our beds. Service was among the best I’ve had at a hotel. Management understood our requests, and the check-in and check-out arrangements for luggage were generous. They even offered to carry it upstairs for us.

I liked the care put into the breakfast sets, and both the western and Japanese options are worth getting. The hotel has a modern, design-conscious feel with tatami style rooms. Check-in took some time, and service was decent. It’s beside a patch of green with a view of a temple that’s currently being repaired.

The Mountain View Room was exceptionally spacious compared with other hotels in Japan, and looked out over Nara Park. The hotel is classy and elegant while keeping a simple, traditional Japanese style. It’s also well placed for walking to the train station, Nara Park, and several temples and shrines.

Nice service and a great location, but the room’s cleanliness was a serious problem. There was a lot of dust, and mold in the bathroom left a moldy smell. We had to sleep with the window open for two days, and the sitting pillow was covered in yellow stains. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want a clean space or have allergies.

The rooms feel cozy and are amazing, and the bathrooms are quite large. For the price, it’s a fantastic deal. Nara Park and the rest of town are a very short distance away, and the station is only 15 mins away.
