The bed was just right for a couple where one person likes a hard mattress and the other prefers something soft and supportive. At other 3-star hotels on our trip, the beds were rock hard. This room was small by Western tourist standards, as Japanese rooms often are, but it was comfortable enough for two people sleeping there. Floor-to-ceiling windows kept it from feeling dark or cramped and gave us a nice view of the area. The room felt well above a typical 3-star standard, and the hotel surpassed our expectations. The bathroom felt like a little luxury, with a rain shower and body jets. The hotel is easy for train trips wherever you need to go, and its location also led us to some hidden local food spots. We found an amazing udon gem in what a Westerner might call a back alley. In Japan, those alleys can have really great local food. The hotel is lovely, and the convenience store right at the entrance was handy. We often grabbed breakfast there on the run or picked up drinks late at night. We didn’t get to try the buffet breakfast or Jazz bar, though both looked nice. One note, reception is reached by elevator on the 2nd floor, or maybe the 3rd, I can’t remember. Definitely recommend it.

Over my 6-day stay, I really enjoyed the breathtaking views and the friendly reception staff. The hotel is in a very convenient spot, with a supermarket and all the bus and train stations nearby. A fantastic experience, and I’d definitely come back. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

My superior double non-smoking room was clean and spacious, with a queen bed. I booked it months ahead for a really good price. The wet room, with its shower and bathtub, was a treat, and the TV was smart. It’s quiet but as convenient as can be, on the less busy side of Nara station. By far the best 3-star hotel I’ve stayed at on this trip to Japan. My only complaint is that the walls are a little thin.

The hotel is modern and very convenient, but I’d have given it five stars if they hadn’t messed up my prepaid booking from five months earlier. First they said we hadn’t paid, then they couldn’t find our reservation. It took a lot of communication using a phone translator and calls with a staff member who spoke English. Once they finally confirmed we’d paid five months before, all they did was apologize. We had to wait an hour in the lobby, so offering one free breakfast would’ve been a good gesture.

Right next to Nara’s JR station, this hotel is in a great location. It’s clean, and the rooms are well appointed, though small by American standards. Breakfast is good, but not outstanding.
