Yuzan Guesthouse - Hostel

Our family of four stayed two nights in the Superior Room and were very happy with the guesthouse and its staff. They were friendly, service-minded, and spoke good English. We were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked the place. Our room opened directly onto a little garden with a pond full of small fish that we could feed. The guesthouse is close to the city center, buses, the train, and Nara Park. I’d highly recommend it.

The shared spaces were welcoming, and the kitchen had everything needed if you want to cook for yourself. We had a lovely stay in this traditional Japanese house, with its tatami mats and sliding doors creating a really relaxed feel. Our room looked onto a cute little garden and pond. All the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. The bathrooms are shared, but spotless, and you can rent bicycles right at the property. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it’s a 10-minute walk to Nara Park.

We enjoyed the location, with the station, supermarket, temples, and Nara Park and its famous deer all within walking distance. I wish we’d stayed longer, because I didn’t realize how authentic and cosy the guesthouse was until I arrived. The host and staff made me feel at home right away. They were warm, helpful, and happy to chat. It’s a traditional Japanese house with tatami mats and sliding doors. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and everything is very clean. Some rooms look out onto a garden or small pond. The shared spaces are inviting, and the kitchen is well equipped. You can rent bicycles on site too. The facilities suited us well. WiFi was fast and reliable, and the showers and toilets were clean and enough for the number of guests. In the dorm, each bed had a power outlet and a locker for personal things. The mattresses were very comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and there was always free drinking water. Breakfast cost 600 yen and was just the right amount. This felt like a place to call home, and I’ll definitely come back.

I slept well in the dorm, which had good air conditioning. Each bed had a light curtain and a power outlet, though the bunks were a bit squeaky. It’s a charming old Japanese house, and the staff welcomed me warmly and were happy to show me around. The deer park is a short walk away, and the train and shops are close too. I had a great stay. You can tell a lot of love has gone into this cute, traditional house.
