Onyado Nono Nara Natural Hot Springs

The ryokan-style shared atmosphere was one of the best parts. It was lovely seeing other guests relaxing in matching yukata sets and socks, like we were all sharing the same experience. We spent two wonderful nights here, and the location was elite, just one street over from Nara station. Check-in was quick, the hotel immaculate, and the staff always ready to answer questions or offer guidance. The baths were varied and elegant. Yakult and pops were available throughout the day, a nice extra. There were also much-loved massage chairs in excellent condition, though someone seemed to be using them at any time of day.

The indoor and outdoor hot tubs are spacious, and the hotel is clean, well run, and right by the station. We had a problem with our toilet and let the staff know. Otherwise, this would’ve been a five-star review. I’d definitely stay again. It’s part of the Dormy hotel chain, and its properties seem really good.

Breakfast was varied and well organized, and there’s an onsen in the hotel with clear rules meant to preserve the authentic feel of the place. The atmosphere is zen and authentic. You take your shoes off throughout the hotel because the floors are covered in tatami mats. The room is simple but well furnished, and the location right outside the station is ideal for dropping off luggage.

For a great price, you get clean rooms, an onsen, and top-class hospitality at this budget-friendly Japanese-style hotel. They give out free late-night ramen, yonaki soba, and free ice cream at night, which is a nice touch. I was surprised the laundry machines were free to use, too.
