The Hedistar Hotel Narita

The room had a nostalgic feel, and the space under the bed was handy for tucking away our huge luggage without crowding the room. Amenities were available in the room and on the ground floor near the lift. Having a FamilyMart inside the hotel was a big highlight for picking up extra food. There was a noticeable stain on the wall by the rubbish bin, and I couldn’t stop noticing it. It didn’t really affect our stay, though it would be nice if they repainted that area. The young gentleman at check-in greeted us promptly and did his best to make the process easy. The staff spoke excellent English, which made it pleasant to communicate what we needed. The airport shuttle was a big bonus. A big thumbs-up to our driver at 5.30am 19th Dec, who was polite and helped lift our large luggage onto the bus. We’re sorry it was so heavy, and please send him our regards! The hotel is about 20 minutes to and from the train station, 15 minutes from Naritasan Shinsho-ji Shrines and the famous old street, and within a reasonable walk of both malls. The smaller Aeon mall is within 10 minutes on foot, which we loved, and the big Aeon is a 30-35 minute walk. Exploring the area was easy.

The rooms are compact, as is standard for Japan, but ours was clean and quiet. The FamilyMart right in the lobby was very handy for quick snacks and drinks. For an overnight stop before an early flight, the free airport shuttle saved us a lot of stress and was reliable. Just remember to book your seat at the front desk when you check in. Good value if you need a comfortable bed near NRT.

There’s a lot of convenience here: a Family Mart, breakfast buffet, coin laundry, good Wi-Fi, strong shower pressure, and a popular airport shuttle. The guest laundry area on the first floor also has vending machines with ice cream cones and beer, plus a currency converter machine. The mall with a full grocery store is very close, and the train station is walkable. I appreciated that the front desk staff spoke English and were always ready to help. There were rooms being renovated right next to mine, but I barely heard anything. The mattress and bench were both too firm for me. I definitely recommend the hotel.

The customer service was amazing, and the hotel offers an airport shuttle. The room was decently clean, and the location worked well, about a 5-minute walk to the smaller Aeon Mall, which was good enough for me. There are some decent restaurants nearby too. I’ll be back.
