Premier Hotel Cabin Obihiro

Best hotel when the government is paying, haha. I stayed here for several days for Jica training.

The breakfast selection was excellent, and the staff were polite. The room is a little small, but the location is excellent. The hotel's onsen opens at 2 pm. It was a good stay, and I'd recommend it.

The reception service was poor. Although the hotel has a car park, they wouldn't let guests use it and insisted we park in a public lot. They also made us wait for our rooms while local guests were allowed up. At 2:45 pm, the same pretty but unfriendly receptionist gave us a room with a faulty toilet. When we asked to move, she said we had to wait for repairmen. I had to use the lobby toilet, and our toilet still hadn't been fixed. When I went back to reception, she ignored me at first. I called out and asked to speak to her supervisor. The service felt terrible and biased against foreigners. Once the supervisor arrived, the receptionist was noticeably nicer, without the disdainful look. Thankfully the supervisor was reasonable and helped us change rooms. The toilet repairman was very helpful too. I think the arrogant receptionist deliberately gave us unlucky room 401, since the toilet kept flushing and could be heard even before we opened the door. Our replacement room in the same category was clean and spacious, and housekeeping was meticulous during its usual cleaning. The bathtub was large and comfortable. The location is good, near the train station, an airport shuttle stop, and good restaurants, including the Rokkatei flagship store.

The hotel's onsen is very relaxing.
