The Sense Fuji

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, which may have been the quiet highlight of our trip. The food was excellent, prepared and presented with real care, and the staff were attentive and wonderful. Our cabin had a private sauna and outdoor hot tub. There’s also a communal hot spring and sauna with striking architecture and amazing Mt. Fuji views. It’s reservation only, so it felt private too. The main draw is the stunning view of Mount Fuji, weather permitting, along with the privacy that comes from limited access.

We came with my family so they could climb Fuji, and the rooms were beautiful. For an unobstructed view, ask for a room on the Fuji side of the path. It would have been perfect if we’d had a car, but we didn’t. The staff were incredibly helpful finding taxis, even while I was out exploring.

Our one-night stay was the highlight of our Japan trip, and I want to come back as soon as I can. The people managing the place were extremely nice. Special thanks to Komiyama, who arranged a superb evening at a local restaurant and a taxi to get us there safely in the snow.

We spent two nights at the Sense Fuji to celebrate our engagement, and it was an amazing stay. We were lucky to have some clear skies, so the views from the location were absolutely gorgeous. The staff looked after us wonderfully from the moment we arrived. They brought both breakfast and dinner right outside our room, and the food was great. The bath house was lovely too, with a bath, cold dip, and sauna, plus nearly the same incredible views. It’s a more luxurious experience, but worth every penny. Thank you to the staff who made it so memorable :)
