Hotel Laforet Nasu

We spent two nights in a cottage. It was spacious and had a beautiful view of the surrounding nature. We had asked for an upper floor, and got that confirmed by email, but were given keys to a ground-floor room. The front desk was able to change it after we called. The cottage Wi-Fi is listed as an amenity, but it might as well not exist. We couldn't use it at all, so we went to the main building's event hall to download a Netflix movie. Other guests were there for internet too, which showed how poor the connection is in the rooms. The rooms need a refresh. They were generally clean, but there were old stains on the sofa, futon, bathroom, and elsewhere. It was very cold even with all the AC on. The bathroom had no heating and was freezing, and the floors were cold too. It's a pity they don't provide indoor slippers.

Overpriced and poorly equipped. The rooms are old and dirty, and restaurant overbooking by staff regularly means a long wait for no apparent reason. Most staff are helpful and courteous, but there are a few bad apples. Avoid.

Clean, very nice place with great views. The hotel bath and onsen aren't really the main draw, so don't get too excited about those. We didn't try the food.

The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the buffet breakfast was yummy. Such a beautiful, friendly, kind experience. It may feel a little expensive, but the price seems fair when you count the separate shower room and breakfast.
