Luxury villa with sauna, BBQ, fire pit, stream and forest bathing — COCO VILLA Nasu Highland

The sauna, the view, and the surroundings were good. Compared with other places in the same price range, a few things bothered me. The bathroom floor is extremely slippery, so small children and people with mobility issues need to be careful. I slipped and fell while bathing with my child, though that was my own carelessness, and we had to call an ambulance. The barbecue grill wasn’t working, so we had to cancel the barbecue. There’s no washing machine or dishwasher, and the frying pan was so worn and burnt that it was impossible to cook with.

We stayed as a group of four, with plenty of space, and I’d like to come with more people next time. The room was spotless, with new, comfortable facilities, as you’d expect in a new building. At Cogo Villa Nasu Kogen, watching the flames in the wood-burning stove felt like a real luxury. The sauna had a spectacular view, and relaxing in the open-air bath afterward was wonderful. I’ve heard more villas will be built in the future, and I’m looking forward to visiting Cogo Villas around the country.

Our parents loved the location and the view, and said they’d like to return in another season. We’d hoped to see autumn colors on our family trip during the mid-November holidays, but the leaves had already fallen and it was cloudy the day we arrived. The next day, though, we could see the beautiful Nasu Mountains through the trees. The house felt open with its high ceilings. We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace in the living room and having dinner together as a family. The air conditioning was on when we checked in, and the stylish lighting was exciting to see. There’s a road in front, so the nearby convenience store and supermarket were easy to reach. There aren’t many streetlights, though, so it may be wise to wear something light if you go out at night. That might have stood out more because it was late in the season. A strong wind came up in the middle of the night, perhaps because of the season, weather, or location. The deck grill was blown around and nearly fell off twice. I tightened the cord at the bottom of its cover, but still worried it might fly away. I’m not sure whether there were stoppers on the legs. The grill was in a corner where wind and fallen leaves gathered, which made me concerned about hygiene. I wonder if anyone else has had this happen. I’d be glad if they could make the area safer. We only stayed one night this time, but next time I’d like to come for several nights in a different season and enjoy sightseeing and activities.

We spent August here as a family of six, two adults and four children, and everyone was very happy with the stay. It made a wonderful summer memory for all of us. The private sauna was a treat. We could relax among the forest trees and listen to the birds. The surroundings were lovely, and restaurants, supermarkets, and many tourist attractions are close by. The place was spacious, clean, and well equipped. Thanks for such a special experience. We’ll definitely stay again.
