Pension Ichigo Milk

This is my third stay, and this time I had a room with its own open-air bath. The cool air outside and the warm water felt just right. The owner and his wife made us feel so welcome, and all the food was delicious, so it was a really relaxing holiday. I usually come in winter, but I’d like to try the fresh greenery season next time. This is my favorite pension, one I’m happy to tell other people about!

I was happy with everything here: the room, its open-air bath, the food, the service, and the cleanliness. It lived up to the reviews and I’d gladly stay again. The only small concern is that the parking lot may feel tight for modern cars.

I’ve come back many times because the hospitality from the owner and his wife, the food, the hot springs, the comfort, and the value are all so good. Calling it the best pension in Nasu wouldn’t be an exaggeration. The greenery outside is lush, and in the morning you can hear birds from the spotless, carefully cleaned rooms. It’s very relaxing. There’s a private bath with natural hot spring water, at a comfortable temperature, and you can use it in the morning too. For dinner, the owner, who has worked at a traditional Japanese restaurant, makes a Western-style full-course meal. They check how well done you want your meat. Breakfast is Japanese and has a different flavor to it. There are so many alcoholic drinks to choose from, and a broad range of non-alcoholic ones as well. The owner and his wife have such soothing personalities.

The room was clean and well looked after, and both the owner’s cooking and his wife’s cheesecake were delicious. I also loved the cocktails and conversation with the owner at the bar. The hospitality made for a memorable stay. I’ll definitely come back!
