The location works well for reaching the train station and buses. The room was a bit small but fine for a short stay, and the city view was nice, though we couldn't open the window for some reason. It's a well-equipped hotel, with a laundromat and microwave near reception.

Teshigawara at reception really impressed me. She called several restaurants to help with reservations and offered to bring a fan up when I felt warm in the room. The hotel is within walking distance of the train and bus stations and plenty of places to eat. Prices were reasonable, and the service was excellent.

The room was spacious and very clean, and it's only a few minutes' walk to the station. I booked two nights for less than the price of some capsule hostels. I'd book this hotel again if I visit Niigata.

The room we got felt very dated, with facilities from the 70s. When we walked in, we thought it was a smoking room because the air felt so poorly ventilated. The air conditioner seemed to be set automatically between 23°C-26°C, which was too warm for us at night. Worse, it made noise and vibrations in the wall beside the bed.

We liked the buckwheat pillows, and the bed was comfortable. The room was spacious by Japan standards, with two chairs, a small table, a desk, a bed, and a little refrigerator. The amenities bar had the widest range of toiletries and teas we've seen. Breakfast was delicious and strongly Japanese, which we prefer. My husband and I highly recommend the hotel.
