Niigata Keihin Hotel

Getting around Niigata was easy from here. It's close to the station, and there are good places to eat at night nearby.

The room was larger than at similar business hotels, and it was well kept. The hotel also seems to have been renovated recently. Staff were good, and nearby convenience stores are handy. It's less than a five minute walk from Niigata station, with reasonable prices. Breakfast is available as an affordable buffet, and it was good for the price. The locally sourced rice was excellent, and the dishes tasted good with it. Free internet is offered, though the Wi-Fi disconnected from time to time. The LAN cable connection worked very well.

We had to book at the last minute after missing our bus, and this was one of the cheaper options. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the price was decent. The bed was the problem: we could feel the springs, so neither of us slept well. I would've been happier with the value if it had been a bit more comfortable.

The parking arrangements left me unhappy. We found a cheaper lot, but the staff member didn't clearly explain that the hotel would pay for parking. We used the lot she directed us to and were charged, even though paying directly would have cost less. We also had to move the car between spots a few times and carry our luggage to the hotel.
