Niimi Business City Hotel

The staff were amazing! Good price, and while the hotel and rooms are simple, they’re very, very clean.

The room seemed renovated and was quite nice, with no unpleasant smell. I paid 10,500 yen for a twin room while traveling by train. It’s under a 10-minute walk from the station. I’d stay again if I get the chance to visit Niimi.

I came for work on September 18, 2025, and it was my first visit 🔰. The hotel was easy to spot as I walked from Niimi Station, about three minutes away. I had breakfast included, served as a set meal on the 3rd floor, and it was delicious. Reception is also on the 3rd floor, with guest rooms on floors 3 through 5. The room was perfectly adequate for one person.

The location feels like a nearly deserted mountain town that may once have been a busy hub. The building is old, though the rooms are maintained well enough. I slept okay, but the mattress didn’t seem very good. The unit bathroom was clean, although some paint is peeling, and the toilet faucet takes some force to operate with its button. Check-in is listed as 4 PM, which is a bit late, but they let me into my room early, perhaps because of their schedule. The lobby has no air conditioning and can be chilly to wait in. That might have been because it was Saturday and not many people were around. They say dinner and breakfast can be ordered, but they don’t seem to be offered on weekends, and there’s no breakfast on Sundays. There are meant to be places to eat, but hardly anyone seems to be around in this quiet town, so finding something on a weekend may be uncertain. Google Maps shows a convenience store nearby, but there isn’t even a supermarket within walking distance of the station. Best to buy food and drinks ahead of time. The hotel vending machines have a decent drink selection. Reception is on the 3rd floor, and the Wi-Fi works fine.
