Breakfast was served at the table, and chef TAKEHIKO INOUE brought a regular breakfast to a much higher level of quality and refinement. It was a real pleasure. The hotel is close to the historical temples, though you would hardly guess it was there from outside. There's an elevator in a small parking lot beneath the building, so at first it's hard to tell there's a hotel tucked away there. Once inside, though, wow. There are nine suites, and it feels like five stars in every way. The staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are large, lovely, comfortable, and clean, with a Nespresso machine, soaking tub, built-in shower, ice and ice cream bar, and all the toiletries you could expect. You can book the spacious, immaculately kept onsen privately.

The location was hard to beat, and the rooms were roomy and comfortable. We also loved the incredibly delicious breakfast. Every staff member was friendly and accommodating. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Japan.

We wished we'd stayed longer in our annex room. It seemed to be the only place in the area with western style beds and a private hot spring in the room. Staff were very nice at check in and check out, using Google translate, and made us feel welcome throughout. The location is handy too, right beside bus stop 84 on the world heritage sight seeing bus. A great place to stay in Nikko.

There are beautiful onsens on every floor, and the rooms are really nice and quiet. The place sits right on the way to the main temple of third Tokugawa Showun Iewasu, so it's perfectly located. A true gem, five stars for sure. ❤️
