Nikko Station Hotel II

It’s a basic hotel with professional, friendly staff and a handy location. Both train stations, a grocery store, laundromat, restaurants, and a 24/7 FamilyMart are within walking distance. There’s no laundry on site. The free breakfast is simple but more than enough. I liked the luggage locker room, which seemed more efficient than leaving bags with someone at the front desk. They also provide a free pajama robe, which I appreciated. The windows are frosted, so they let light in but offer no view. And while the shower had shampoo and body wash, it didn’t have conditioner.

The free breakfast was decent, the luggage storage was free, and the location is great, only a few minutes from Tobu Nikko Station. The hotel otherwise seemed decent, with good amenities. I’d rate it five stars if not for the air conditioning. I couldn’t control it at night, and the room was warm enough to make sleeping uncomfortable. Fortunately, it was cool outside, so I could open the window a little. The bed wasn’t very comfortable either. I wouldn’t stay here again for those reasons.

I picked Nikkō Station Hotel II Annex because it was affordable and included breakfast. My room cost 7,200 yen per night. It’s right next to Nikkō Station, with a small police box nearby that made the area feel safe and welcoming. I also chose it because its nearby sister hotel offers access to a hot spring for just 600 yen, haha. I visited the Yunodaira Wetland first. Walking along the wooden paths, I was delighted to see lots of monkeys moving freely in the trees and on the ground. Seeing them in their natural habitat made the quiet wetland feel special.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was clean and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find breakfast included, a really nice bonus. The location is excellent, and I’d definitely stay here again.
