We had a good stay here. It’s a little farther out, though we had a car. There were almost no other guests, so it was quiet. In the evening, we got to watch Kendo practice, which was fun. The communal baths aren’t very big, but they’re nice, and the beds were good. Futons are available too. The place is a bit messy in a Japanese kind of way. Breakfast was good Japanese home cooking, and the staff were friendly.

I was here twenty years ago, and I still remember how beautiful the night sky was, full of stars.
We had a relaxing time surrounded by nature. The parents were very friendly, and the kids had fun running around the kendo hall. The food was delicious, so we were very satisfied.
I only found out about this place after chatting with an older woman at a convenience store near JR Shimo-Oosawa Station. I’ve lived around here for decades and love hot springs, so I was surprised. Nikko City has plenty of public baths, and even at Katakuri, where hot spring fans go, I’d never heard of this one. A foreign visitor called it a “public bath,” and now I’m searching online and think I’ve found it, lol. I’ll go check it out, though I’m not sure the water is actually from a hot spring. It sounds small and probably aimed mostly at overnight guests. If you’re a high-class professional, please stay somewhere else. And day visitors or bathers from outside the area, please leave us locals out of it.
