We booked at the last minute and were happy with the stay. The staff were kind, the room was large, and breakfast was very good. The station is only a five-minute walk away. I just wish the room had a shower.

Our junior suite had its own onsen and an electric bed, with complimentary coffee, tea, and beer in the room. It made for a very pleasant stay. This is a relatively small onsen hotel near the railway station, and the service was good, including help from English-speaking staff. Breakfast and dinner looked nicely presented and tasted good, though the cooking wasn’t especially delicate. The rice was particularly great.

The charcoal-based concept was unusual and really appealed to me. After the hot tubs and a super delicious dinner, we slept for 11 hours straight. Amazing stay, thank you Marukyo!

Food and service were pretty standard. It’s a small inn close to the station, but it sits right beside the train tracks, so there’s train noise. It’s also a bit away from the kinugawa river, so there’s no river view.

I have gout, so I need to be careful with beef and can’t eat too much seafood. They served a dinner with premier pork and other ingredients, without beef, and it was easily the best dinner I’ve had in Japan. Highly recommended!
