Country Inn Milky House

The meals were a real highlight and a lovely surprise. Every dish was excellent, and we enjoyed everything the chef and staff made. We hardly felt like going out to eat. My brother and I had the pleasure of staying for a few days. Flight delays meant we got to Sapporo very late, and we'd emailed ahead, a little worried we'd be locked out. They replied quickly with clear room access instructions and had dinner set aside for us. I've had service like that nowhere, even at many five-star hotels. The rooms are simple but thoughtfully equipped with everything you need. We booked the larger one, which had a private bathroom and shower, plus room heaters and all the essentials. That was especially welcome in the –15°C winter weather. For a relaxed, welcoming, low-key stay, I can wholeheartedly recommend this place.

That beef and pork yakitori with parsley Mayo was unbelievable. It beat the $140.00 wagyu steak I had in Kyoto, and might be the best thing I've ever eaten. The cheesecake was just as lovely, smooth and creamy with a fluffy texture that held together, plus a blueberry sauce with a nice tang to balance the sweetness. The staff were welcoming, and the whole place felt warm and comfortable. Best food experience I've had in Niseko in the last 10 years!

I've been coming back to Milky for six years, and it feels like a home away from home. Ram deserves a huge shout out. He makes me feel at home, and he's a real star. I'd love to see him promoted to management. Masa and the team are attentive and accommodating, and I love the food and staff. The rooms are so cosy that some days I could barely bring myself to leave bed and wanted to spend the whole day relaxing there.

The price felt more than fair for what you get, and the slopes are less than a five-minute walk away. I found the rooms comfortable, the food high quality, and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Staying at Milky was a real treat. Loved it.
