For my husband's 40th, our group of 8 stayed at hooting owl lodge. The cabin was tucked into peaceful natural surroundings and gave us a cozy, comfortable place to come back to after a day on the slopes. The host was so hospitable and did more than expected to make the stay memorable. It worked really well for a large group: we could all stay together while still having our own rooms and bathrooms. I’d highly recommend it to anyone after a peaceful Niseko getaway. Thank you!

I’d stayed here before, then came back last year, and wow, what a difference. It’s been beautifully renovated into a relaxed lux chalet. The open plan kitchen and living area was great for socializing with my group of 12 family and friends. It’s good value, with free parking for our 3 cars. The location made getting to the ski area easy, just a 1 minute drive, and it was away from the crowds in Hirafu. Loved it.

The one small downside was weak WiFi in some parts of the lodge, which made it hard to call home from my room. That was only a minor inconvenience, though. This is the best shared accommodation or lodge I’ve stayed in. The staff and other guests were amazing, and staying there made our trip special. It felt like visiting a friend’s place, not like being just another guest. The staff really went beyond what I’d expect.

It’s a small hostel, but it feels warm and cozy, both around the staff and the other guests. Breakfast having a hot dish option was a first for me at a hostel. It may be a bit far from other places or restaurants, but I’d still stay here again. :)
