Every season must bring a different kind of enjoyment here, and I’d love to stay in all of them. The inn’s owner was wonderful and so generous with his hospitality, which made the visit even better. Staying here gave me experiences I hadn’t had anywhere else: relaxing by the bonfire, feeling the fireplace’s gentle warmth, and waking to all kinds of birdsong. I also loved thinking about the handmade house. It was my first time having such an amazing stay. This really is a special place, and I hope people from around the world get to experience it.

We had a great time shopping for ingredients, then cooking sukiyaki, hot pot, and fish dishes. Everything we needed was provided. It’s an ideal base for a wonderful stay, and a house where you can relax to your heart’s content with the people you love.

The wood gives this place such a warm feel, and I can’t think of a cuter house. In winter, we relaxed by the wood stove and used the outdoor sauna. The star-filled sky at night made it such a lovely time.

We stayed for two nights in late August, my husband, our two elementary-school-aged boys, and me. The kids had a great time pretending to explore the room, having a garden barbecue, and setting off the fireworks we’d brought. On our last day, they said they didn’t want to go home yet. That made me realize all over again how glad I was that we stayed. The hosts also responded quickly when we left some things behind.
