The traditional Japanese-style double room worked perfectly for us, and the communal facilities were great, with a large bath and plenty of showers, sinks, and toilets. The hostel has been recently renovated, so everything feels modern, including the shared areas. The owner and staff were fantastic and went out of their way to help. It's in a great spot, a 5 minute walk from the JR station, and the train takes about 10/15 minutes to Osaka or Kobe. One of the best places we stayed during our 5 week trip around Japan. We'd love to return and would highly recommend it.

We stayed in a mixed room with women and men, and it felt very safe. The entrance has the usual hostel setup, where you leave your shoes and switch to slippers. Showers are on the first floor and very clean, and there's also a meeting room with a TV, table, and somewhere to hang clothes. The woman at reception didn't speak much English, but Google Translate and gestures worked well. She was kind and gave us extra sheets when we asked. The JR subway station is an easy 6 minutes away, with trains to Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe. There's a 24-hour convenience store around the corner, plus a grocery store and a few places to eat near the station.

The staff were really friendly, and the signs in Japanese and English made things easy. The room was surprisingly spacious, too. Since the place had only been open about a month, everything was very clean. It's also convenient for reaching several train lines, and I had a very pleasant stay.

Everything was new and clean, and our twin room was surprisingly spacious. This was our first time at Toyotaya, where we were the 2nd guests. The Japanese-style guesthouse has a really nice host who seemed excited and kept wondering whether guests were enjoying themselves. There are great places to eat around there too. Highly recommend spending a night.
