Breakfast was delicious, and spending time with Gao the Shiba was the cutest little extra. Soku’s warmth and kindness made the guesthouse feel so welcoming. I loved having my own space while still feeling part of the home. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

The room was small but comfortable, and everything was clearly explained. The owners were lovely, welcoming, and accommodating, and let us check in once the room was ready. Breakfast was really good for an extra 300 yen. Mr Gao is adorable and will pose for a picture with you as you leave. The gift when we left was a lovely touch.

Breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were so kind. The place was clean and easy to use, with traditional Japanese-style bedrooms, and they made us feel really welcome. Gao was adorable too :) This was one of the highlights of our trip in Japan. We’d come back to Kanazawa just for the people’s hospitality.

The innkeeper was really friendly and made sure we had what we needed. The guesthouse is in a handy central spot for nearby sights, and the authentic Japanese-style rooms were a good deal. Bathrooms and showers were clean, and the breakfast he offered was lovely and good value. We even left with a little shiba bag as a keepsake. Great place, and there was a sweet old shiba too.

The Higashichaya teahouse district is less than a five-minute walk away, which made the location excellent. I had everything I needed, and my room was comfortable and clean. The owners were welcoming and helpful, and it was a pleasure meeting them. Honestly, it’s hard to think of anything I didn’t love. My favourite place to stay on the whole trip.
