This was the most comfortable hotel room I've had. The room was a decent size and never felt claustrophobic like the resort hotels, and the bathroom was spacious too. It was quiet, with a great location just a 2 minute walk from the train station. I booked at the last minute and don't regret it. If you don't need Instagram likes or a fancy restaurant, this is perfect. Way better than the Kobe resort hotel.

There are plenty of amenities and rental items, so you don't need to worry about arriving without things. The place is easy to get to, a short walk from the station, and has parking, which makes it handy for sightseeing or business. My room was clean and bright, all in white, and I slept well in the big bed. The jacuzzi bath and decorative lighting made bathing feel a bit special. The meals were tasty and filling, including omelet rice and pasta, and I was happy to have crispy croissants for breakfast.

Shukugawa Park is next door, with lovely autumn leaves and a nice natural setting. The hotel is also well placed for getting around, about a 30-second walk from Hanshin Kohakuen Station and a 5-minute walk from JR Sakura-Shukugawa Station. I stayed in the most popular suite this time. It has a luxurious white interior, with a spacious king-size bed at the back. Every room has VOD and DVD players, so you can watch movies and dramas without limits, and Wi-Fi is available throughout, making it easy to bring a phone or tablet. The jacuzzi and decorative lights make bath time feel special. The sink area is spacious, and there's a good supply of skincare products and amenities. The in-room menu is extensive, with classic pasta, demi-glace omelet rice, fried chicken and other snacks, ramen, champon, and even a breakfast set. It feels like a grown-up family restaurant in your room. HOTEL U's Kohakuen is a designer hotel, just 30 seconds from the Hanshin Kohakuen Station ticket gates.
