The breakfast could use some improvement. The sukiyaki set meal, though, was enormous and I couldn’t finish it. I suppose it may depend on which plan you choose. I hope the staff won’t take this the wrong way, but I was glad it wasn’t too crowded.
A seaside inn serving the sort of seafood dishes you’d expect by the sea. The portions were generous and everything was delicious. They also have a social media account!
Just remember to bring cash, since they don’t accept anything else. Last time I even had to borrow money from my child to pay... The sashimi was clear and delicious, and the seafood bowl costs 2500 yen, which seems quite reasonable to me. The sweet tamagoyaki was tasty too. I last came in June, and the sashimi changes with the seasons, so I think there’s something to enjoy whenever you visit. The counter seats look out nicely and feel relaxing. Best of all, it’s quieter than eating at a market, so you can take your time.
I enjoyed the seafood bowl, with its fresh, generous serving of sashimi. They told me the bowl comes with vinegared rice instead of plain rice. Tea and water are self-service. The restaurant is in the lobby of a former inn. The window counter has a nice view, but it’s not a very relaxing place to sit, which is a shame when the food is good.
The sea view from the window counter made for a nice meal. I got there about ten minutes before opening, and they kindly let me in. The seafood bowl had fresh sashimi, especially the sea bream, which had a lovely texture. I usually don’t care much for vinegared rice, but this was so tasty that I think I’m starting to like it. (laughs)
