Residence Yasushi

There are plenty of staff around, and they'll help with all sorts of things, from finding tour operators to sending or receiving luggage. The service has a lodge feel, and breakfast is superb. Every afternoon there was freshly baked cake or biscuits, and the chef even made a special treat for my wife, who is allergic to nuts. The rooms are very large and well equipped. The location has great views in a beautiful area, though it's a little far from the lifts. Incredible accommodation, highly, highly recommend staying here.

We loved staying at Residence Yasushi and would absolutely come back. The rooms were spacious and super comfortable, and the bed was so good we didn't want to get up. It's a little higher up from the ski area, but the shuttle takes you right there, so it's easy. From the minute we arrived, everything felt welcoming. Manu looked after us, showed us around the map, and even helped with restaurant reservations, which was such a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious too.

It's on the quiet end of town, but still close to the main thoroughfare. The kitchen puts out a different excellent breakfast menu each day, plus lovely cakes and breads for afternoon tea. What would bring me back, though, is the personal, thoughtful service. They sorted out incredible restaurant recommendations and last-minute reservations.

I couldn't get my review onto booking.com, and can't edit it there now, so I'm leaving it here. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. They helped us park, walked us back to the property, and patiently waited while I slowly made my way up the hill. I really appreciated that, and their kindness stayed with me. The private onsen was a peaceful, relaxing highlight. The rooms have been beautifully renovated, with lots of space, exceptionally comfortable beds, and some of the plushest towels I've found in Japan. The room felt warm and welcoming, and clearly well thought out. Breakfast was very good each morning, with healthy, high-quality choices. I liked the tea and coffee setup in the room too. The heated eye mask was such a thoughtful touch, and one of my favorite amenities. All the amenities around the property added to the comfort. And don't miss the cake on the middle day, it was SO GOOOOOOOD!
