Hotel Ermou Regency

The service was good, but the room carpet was filthy, dirtier than in most restaurants. Such a cheap hotel.

The large smart TV had Netflix and other streaming services, which I loved. On a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji through the window, and it opens and closes with barely any effort. I stayed overnight from Saturday for some work nearby. I picked up my amenities and pajamas beside the front desk, and the plastic bags they provided made them easy to carry. The room was simple and fine, though the bath felt dated. The hair dryer was slow, so long-haired guests should keep that in mind. There was no humidifier, and I found it thirsty, so bringing plenty to drink is a good idea. Sunday is the only day breakfast is all buffet. On other days it’s plated rice with buffet items. I chose the full buffet, and it was delicious. Checkout was quick at the self-service machine by reception. I’d stay again if I’m in the area. Thank you.

From here, Mishima Skywalk is about a 30-minute drive. There isn’t much to explore on foot nearby, since restaurants and convenience stores are all quite far away. I personally recommend the excellent izakaya on the hotel’s first floor. My twin corner room was roomy and comfortable, and opening the curtains in the morning to see Mount Fuji in full view was a thrill. The bathroom is unit-style, but the bottom of the door had a gap of about 5 cm. Sounds from the toilet and bath carried straight into the room, which bothered me. I wonder why there’s a gap there.
