Hotel Select Inn Numazu

Getting to Numazu station takes a bus, though there’s a 7 eleven and a Lawson nearby. The room smelled strongly of cigarettes. It was a smoking room, so we couldn’t really complain, and if you’re okay with that, the hotel is quite okay. The price is cheap, and still low compared with nearby hotels. But when we arrived, staff said we’d paid for one person in one room, even though we’d booked for three and there were three beds. We had to pay an extra 2,000 yen per person.

The hotel’s a bit difficult to reach without a car, but they can call a taxi and have one there in about 10 minutes. Staff were kind and helpful with English speakers. I stayed with a friend in a single room that had a queen size bed plus a twin bunk bed. It was a decent size and came with what we needed: a bathroom, shower, sink, towels, yukatas, and toothbrushes. I used the coin laundry too. The machines worked fine for a small load, though I needed two drying cycles. That wasn’t a big issue. A satisfying stay at Select Inn Numazu.

There are plenty of convenience stores close by, so you can grab food and eat in your room if you’d rather skip the hotel food. The facilities are good enough, and the staff are friendly and very helpful.

A good place to get some rest.
